Questions, bugs, and suggestions are all welcome at alexladin@novanomadgear.com. GeoSharp is made by one person, so replies may take a few days, but every message is read.
If you are reporting a problem, these details help a lot:
- Your device (for example iPhone 15 Pro, or iPad Air) and iOS version
- Roughly when you installed or last updated GeoSharp, which tells us which version you are on
- What you were doing when it happened, and what you expected instead
- A screenshot or screen recording, if the problem is something you can see
Progress and backup
I reinstalled the app and my progress is gone
GeoSharp backs your progress up to your own iCloud account, so a reinstall or a new device should restore your streak, level, coins, and country cards automatically. If it did not:
- Check that you are signed in to the same Apple Account you used before.
- Check that iCloud Drive is on in iOS Settings. The backup uses iCloud, so it cannot restore without it.
- Give it a moment after first launch. The restore happens in the background and needs a network connection.
The backup is stored in your own iCloud account, not on our servers, so we cannot recover progress for you if it is not there.
Does my progress sync between my iPhone and iPad?
Yes, through the same iCloud backup. Progress is saved when the app goes to the background, and the most recently saved device wins, so let one device finish before picking up on the other.
The daily quiz, streaks, and country cards
How does the daily quiz work?
Every day there is one country of the day, the same for everyone, and one round of 15 questions about it. You can play it once per day.
How do I earn a country card, and what are Bronze, Silver, and Gold?
Your score in the daily round decides the tier that country’s card reaches:
- 5 or more correct → Bronze, which unlocks the card
- 10 or more correct → Silver
- All 15 correct → Gold
Your best result is always kept. A later round on the same country can raise a card’s tier but never lowers it, so it is always safe to play again. Scoring under 5 does not unlock the card, but it becomes available in the shop.
How do streaks and streak freezes work?
Your streak counts consecutive days you played the daily quiz, and any score keeps it alive. Miss a day and a streak freeze is spent automatically to cover it, if you have one banked.
Freezes are bought with coins. You can bank up to 5 at a time, and each one costs more than the last, starting at 150 coins. They are meant to cover the occasional missed day rather than replace playing.
My streak reset even though I played
Days roll over at midnight UTC, not local midnight, so a late-night session may count toward the next day depending on your time zone. If you believe a streak was lost incorrectly, email us with roughly when you played and your time zone.
Coins, levels, and ads
Where do coins come from and what are they for?
Coins come from finishing quizzes, the daily round, and unlocking achievements. They are spent on streak freezes, country cards, and card themes in the shop.
The “2x” button did not appear after a round
That button doubles a reward by watching a short ad, and it only appears when an ad is actually ready to play. If no ad is available it is hidden rather than shown as a dead button, so you never tap it and get nothing. This is normal and depends on ad availability, not on anything you did.
Is there a way to remove ads?
Ads in GeoSharp are optional. Nothing in the game is gated behind watching one, and the only ads are the rewarded videos you choose to play for a bonus.
Settings and notifications
I am not getting my daily reminder
Check the Daily quiz reminder toggle in Settings first. If it is on and reminders still are not arriving, notifications are probably turned off for GeoSharp at the system level. Settings shows a shortcut to the iOS setting when it detects this.
What is Google Street View Countries mode?
A toggle in Settings that limits every quiz to countries with common Google Street View coverage. It is there for players training for GeoGuessr, and it is off by default.
Can I turn off sounds or haptics?
Yes, both have toggles in Settings.
Requirements
GeoSharp requires iOS 26.5 or later and runs on iPhone and iPad. iPhone is designed for portrait, and iPad for landscape.
Privacy
GeoSharp has no account and does not ask for your name or email. The full detail is in the privacy policy.
